As I've been discovering lately, anything good, anything worthy, anything right in our lives begins with God. Recalling Romans 5:8, God saved us before we even knew we needed Him. In Matthew 6:8, Jesus tells us God knows what we need before we ask. And James tells us everything good and perfect is from God.
These truths are just part of God's glory.
Do you need hope? You will find it when you see and know God's glory.
Do you need joy? You will find it when your hope is in the glory of God.
So it all begins with God.
And if that is true, what will happen as He grows ever larger in our field of vision? As we seek Him and His righteousness, what new beginnings will sprout in us?
Ask God to grow in your vision today. Ask Him for new beginnings! Then share any assurances He gives you, will you please?

Putting It All Together

Speaking of knowing what we need before we do, I wrote this post yesterday morning, and last night, found myself in desperate need of both hope and joy. It was just one of those moments, but as soon as the tears started, I remembered I could have hope in God's glory. This may sound silly, but I imagined the stadium visual (see "The Glory" comments) and was almost instantly filled with hope and joy (the "hooray!" part). Even though my situation hasn't changed, just recognizing WHO God is brings hope into even the darkest corner. In His presence, how can you not have hope?
It is so encouraging to see the Lord's hand working for your good even days before you would struggle with needing hope and joy. I am convinced that in His sovereignty he knew you would need to study and meditate on these things in order to overcome your trial. This gives me hope- because I can see how He is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, eternal and full of love only a Father could have for his child. I am encouraged that His hand is at work for our good-I don't fully understand but He tells us that in ALL THINGS God works for the good of those who love Him. That gives me hope and joy. Thank you Jesus that you are standing by ready and waiting to equip us with the tools we need to stay the course.
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him."
My husband and I have been faced with some decisions recently. Decisions that could drastically affect our lives. One of which is what place we will move to next. I find hope in that whatever we decide, and whatever the Air Force decides, it is ultimately in God's hands. What may seem like a bad outcome to me can be molded into a mountain of blessings in God's hands. He holds us and is working in us even when we don't see Him, and I can find rest in His arms.
Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
